Amazing. How does he do it? Magic!

Jim came to our Cancer Card Eurovision Party and he was loved by everyone. He worked his way around the tables performing close magic with some absolutely unexplainable skill and mastery. Jim works hard at what he does and is a pure legend. Would not hesitate to have him at a future event. Thank you Jim 💛

We booked Jim the Magician for my Dad’s 70th Birthday garden party after my sister had seen him at another opening event in Edinburgh. Jim was a fantastic edition to the celebrations and entertained our children and the adults with his magic! We all loved it and were delighted with how he added to the fun of the day. Highly recommend to anyone who believes in magic and is looking to add a very fun touch to a special occasion or event!

Jim was fantastic at our End of Year Party at work. He engaged well with the staff and put on a amazing table tricks, from rings vanishing and reappearing in zipped wallets, to card magic even one with a chocolate! He “wowed” the staff with his magic, Thank you.

To make a joint birthday party more special we booked Jim for a one hour session at my parents house. Despite the request being very short notice Jim was happy to accommodate us. All the way through the booking process Jim was polite and patient (we needed to change the timing on more than one occasion). Anyway, on the night he was great. It was a mixed audience with my family ranging from 5 years old to 80+ but Jim managed to keep everyone engaged and amazed. My kids are still talking about it a week later! Anyway, thanks again and no doubt we will be in touch again in the future.

We’ve now had Jim at our Awards Dinner twice, and he does not disappoint! I would highly recommend hiring him for your corporate and private events… our guests were entertained and stunned!

Jim is incredible! We worked with him on a community event exploring magic, madness and what gets called ‘mental health’. He was wonderful to work with, taking time to get to know the group and understand the project. His close up magic is completely astonishing and he had kids and adults alike enchanted! He taught a magic lesson to a group of people who all mastered tricks, had fun and grew their confidence. And delivered an amazing show with thoughtful ideas around mental health and a warm invitation for people to talk about the topics. It was totally transformative for people. And I have literally no other explanation for what happened that day other than real, actual magic. Can you tell – I cannot recommend Jim enough!!!

Just watched Jim do a show in Edinburgh. He was fantastic. A good showing of sleight of hand card and disappears. He worked the crowd and was super good with the kids in the audience.

I did some printing for Jim and when he picked it up I had the kids in the shop age 12 & 6 Jim got the cards out straight away and did some magic for them for a good 10 minutes the kids loved it #magic

We met Jim a few years running at the Edinburgh fringe many years ago and thought he was absolutely incredible. We asked him if he would perform close magic at our wedding, which we thought was a long shot as we got married in Essex; however, Jim was so excited for us he travelled all the way down for us. Honestly, he was a highlight of our big day for our guests and he blew everyone’s minds. We can’t wait to see him at the fringe again soon. I hired Jim for a private student event in Edinburgh. And wow! What a night! He was highly professional and was the highlight of the evening by a considerable distance. I booked a two hour session with Jim to learn some close-up card tricks. This is something that has interested me for many years and an opportunity not to be missed. Jim is very friendly and the ultimate professional. As a magician, he is outstanding. His teaching abilities are of a similar high standard. He is detailed, methodical and (importantly) very understanding of his pupil’s shortcomings. The lesson was backed up with notes and a fabulous series of videos (one for each trick). Whether you want to learn magic or simply see it performed, I highly recommend Jim.

Booked Jim for my wife’s special birthday party last weekend (it’s a secret) and he was nothing but professional, courteous and helpful in the lead up to the event.  On the night itself he kept 16 guests with an age range of 13-64 enthralled with his act taking his time to involve everyone and indeed repeating 3 of his tricks at close range for the guest of honour as well as teaching her to do a trick.  At the end of the night my wife said that it was her best birthday party since she was 10 ( I didn’t ask) and that was in the main due to Jim.

Jim is a consummate professional, whose close-up magic is just mind-blowing! I was treated to a couple of hours of Jim’s entertainment, along with five teenage children. We were all blown away by his ‘tricks’ (the word tricks feels a little inadequate to describe his art). I have no idea how he did most of them, they were so clever! Jim came out to our house a few weeks back for a family gathering for a 50th birthday and his tricks were fantastic, leaving us all impressed and baffled!  We were a small-ish group of about 15 adults and 5 kids aged 6 to 9. So he did a one hour show for us and it really was brilliant – aimed at the adults, but the kids loved it too and he was fantastic with them…even teaching them a wee trick at the end!  I would definitely recommend him and have him back again at any future event. Wanted something different to celebrate our first friends gathering post pandemic. From the start Jim offered great communication and a very seamless booking process. Jim arrived early for an hour of close up magic, he performed a number of tricks for each of us (9 people), it was as much fun watching others tricks as well as participating in our own. Another magic trick was remembering all our names well within the hour! Definitely the highlight of our evening and still trying to figure out how he does it! Thanks again Jim.

We invited Jim to perform at our daughter’s wedding, which was held during Covid restrictions. The guests loved Jim’s cabaret performance, but were particularly entertained when he went round each table performing his sleight of hand magic – such fun and so impressive!  Jim’s such a nice guy, he met with bride and groom virtually before the wedding, and stayed later than planned to make sure he got round to each table. Can’t thank him enough!

Jim came along and performed at my daughters 21st to a variety of ages and his whole performance went down a storm, thoroughly enjoyed by all, as he worked around every table and was still getting discussed the next day.  Jim came along prior to the band arriving and helped get everyone in a great mood and he involved everyone who attended. We hired Jim for our wedding entertainment and he was absolutely amazing! From our very interaction Jim was a fantastic mixture of being extremely professional and lots of fun. He initially did a cabaret act which was great entertainment for everyone and then he went round the tables. He made sure that everyone had a chance to see him and feedback from our guests was fantastic. In fact, we could tell that our guests were enjoying Jim’s magic so much that we hired him for an extra hour!  Jim made our wedding (during covid) so special – we can’t thank him enough.

Jim has been around HebCelt for a good number of years and his shows have gone from strength to strength in that time. Each year he seems to come up with a selection of brand new tricks which has your jaw dropping. Fabulous Jim!

I was invited to dinner aboard the RRS Discovery in Dundee. The venue was a great and unique experience, but Jim’s entertainment took it to another level. His warm, welcoming, friendly style coupled with his desire to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves absolutely shone through. As for the magic itself, it was sensational!! Jim is a fantastic magician! He has performed at both an Office Christmas party in (Dec 2018) and most recently at my Mum’s 60th Birthday celebration. We had a private section in our favourite Thai Restaurant in Edinburgh – Time for Thai on Castle Street. He was able to adapt the tricks he had planned to the space and the audience without any planning or seeing the space beforehand – really useful when its being worked around a meal.

His magic is fascinating, funny and captivating for all ages. He is friendly and personable and can engage with anyone.

Fantastic Entertainment, Jim attended our Gents Presentation of Prizes at Dunnikier Park Golf Club, a move away from the usual after dinner speaker. No one was disappointed! We booked Jim to entertain during our ‘Staff Away Day’ lunch – he was a fantastic addition and was easily able to move around entertaining various small groups of people. The tricks were absolutely mind-boggling and will certainly stay with many of the guests for a very long time indeed! I was at a dinner party, with Jim as the post-main course entertainment. And… he was brilliant. You can watch his card and other tricks as hard as you like, from a range of 18 inches, and still not understand it. I guess that’s because it’s magic. Jim is absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for a magician, look no further. I have seen him perform several times and he never ceases to impress! I’m looking forward to his show at this year’s festival. But don’t worry if you’re not in Edinburgh for the festival, Jim can be booked for private parties, we were lucky enough to have him perform at my works Christmas do a few years ago and people still talk about his Kit Kat trick! Best to book him well in advance though as his skills are always in high demand!

I’ve seen Jim perform for a few years now and he is always fantastic and always coming up with new tricks. He’s the best magician in town, some of the tricks truly baffle me. A must for any party or get together.

Absolutely magic!

I run a small hotel, restaurant and bar, and recently had the pleasure of Jim performing informally for those guests lucky enough to be in attendance. I’ve seen Jim perform a few times and his attention to detail, easy manner and convincing close-up magic always delight and entertain – including, as others have said, even the hardest of cynics!  I’m really looking forward to having Jim back here in a more organised sense, for a bit of a ‘magic dinner’ and really can’t recommend him enough! If you are looking for a magician for a party, wedding or family get together, you’ll be hard pressed to find better!!

Booked Jim for my mum’s 50th and he was amazing. As I have seen him perform before, I knew what to expect, we only paid him for an hour but he Is not one to simply leave when the clock strikes the hour! He is happy to do the extra trick which shows he cares and loves his passion for performing and not just making his income! Jim performed at a party I organised in Edinburgh last weekend. He mingled with our guests in a relaxed and unforced manner during our drinks reception and evening reception, providing entertainment for both young and old. In terms of the booking process, none of the other magicians came close; he was quick to respond, easy to deal with, and a reasonable price (other magicians were coming in at RIDICULOUS prices).
