As we slowly edge our way towards Day 365, I get a feeling of excitement and a sense of relief 🙂

After my usual weekday start this morning, I settled into doing some paid work at the computer.

Then this afternoon Gandolf phoned me to ask if I was free to help putting a kick board down in my Kitchen, so we arranged to meet at the flat at 5pm.

Trying to work out how to squeeze in a walk with Honey and be at the flat by 5pm and finish off my work, I decided to run to the flat.  Although I didn’t leave until 4.15pm, it was going to be a fast run to get their by 5pm.

Going on the usual route, through The Meadows and then through Arthur’s Seat.

The running App I used before Strava, measure this run as 6.5km, but Stava says it’s just over 5km.  Plot my Route says it’s 6km!  I’m not a big fan of Strava – it under estimates the distance and uses a lot of battery power to use it!

As we ran through The Meadows a protest was just setting up, I didn’t stop to find out more.  I only had 35 minutes to get to my flat!

As I ran towards the top of Easter Road, I past a wee help yourself sale to and give a donation.  There was no one around managing it, realising this would have been the perfect way to get rid of my things whilst I have been downsizing.  Although, I have some things to clear out of the boat, so maybe I will set will up next to the canal!!

Things We No Longer Use / Do

So far we have looked at – Kilts (Day 300), Irons (Day 301), Suit and Tie (Day 302), Passports (Day 303), Massive Travel Delays (Day 304), Clothes (Day 305) High Heels (Day 311), Taxis (Day 312), A Random Snog in a Nightclub (Day 313), Karaoke Clubs (Day 314), Cash (Day 315), Handshake (Day 316), Head Lice (nit comb and medicated shampoo) (Day 317), Pinworm Infections (Day 318), Offering to take someone’s photo (Day 319), Overnight Suitcase (Day 342), Perfume (Day 343), Shaving Products, for men (Day 344), Birthday Candles (Day 347) and nip into a shop without queuing (Day 349).

Brian has suggested another one – Rucksacks.

He says:

“Rucksacks! Who uses them these days!

I’m scared to dig mine out the cupboard!”.

I’ve found nothing doing an internet search about the decline in sales or use of rucksacks due to lockdown restrictions.

However, I did find this article about how you can continue to do your ‘Duke of Edinburgh Awards‘ even during the pandemic.

It encourages you to prepare for your expedition by practicing packing your rucksack!

When did you last use your rucksack?  I used mine last week on the way to a sleepover in the flat (Day 353)

Readers Corner

Another painting from Anna that she has done with The Paint Republic, Anna says:

“Another The Paint Republic card I’ve done”.

Thanks Anna 🙂

As I come to the end of this blog, despite it being 11pm, I am feeling wide awake!  The exercise I did today seems to have given me lots of energy 🙂

It’s been a good start to the week!

Tomorrow Nicola is making announcements about lockdown restriction easing.  Fiona (my neighbour) tells me it’s going to be sunny tomorrow too 🙂

It was nice day today, although still cold.  But raining this evening.

Hope you’ve had a good start to your week!

Stay Safe 🙂
