Day 330 – Reflections on Lockdown

It’s going to be a short blog today, as I am tired!

Despite going to bed early last night, Honey the Dog got me up in the middle of the night wanting to go for a walk.  She usually does this when she is not feeling so well.  She was not quite herself last night through the evening, looking a bit pale – she also always sleeps near my head when not well, which she was doing this last night.  So we went for a walk in the middle of the night, which was actually 40 minutes until she did a poo!

This afternoon, she was sick on the bus – luckily we were sitting at the back on the top floor, so no one saw – so with 3 poo bags it was all cleaned up and no one seemed to notice, face-masks would have covered any smell 😉

This evening she seems more herself, but I am keeping an eye on her.  It is probably something she ate!!

This morning, my plan was to head to the flat all day to catch up on things to do.  So we got the bus there and had a good few hours, with me doing what is needed to get it ready for renting.  Then we walked home via Arthur’s Seat and The Meadows.

The air definitely has a feeling of Spring in it – I think just because it is warmer and lighter a lot later.

As we walked through Holyrood Park, there were some guys out playing football.  It reminded me of last summer when lots of people were out and about, with their yoga mats, doing exercises and playing sports – I don’t think I’ve seen that for the last few months.  Another clear sign that people / the world / nature is starting to wake up after a cold winter 🙂

When I got back to Discovery, there were birds singing, I think that is the first time I have heard birds singing at the boat 🙂

Spring is on its way – until the next cold snap!!

A beautiful sunset too 🙂

As I come to the end of today’s blog, I am feeling super tired!  I lit the wood burner this evening, it’s not very hot, but I think the heat makes me sleepy.

Today it’s been sunny, it hasn’t rained.  Parts of the canal is still frozen, but apparently a large sheet of ice broke off and drifted down the canal, so it is clearly melting.  By the weekend it is forecast to be +10 degrees – will I need the fire at all?

Hope you’ve had a Tremendous Tuesday 🙂

Jim xx
