Day 270 – Reflections on Lockdown

posted in: Stories | 0

Today I have continued painting my flat – it was the spare room today, which I have finished, walls and ceiling 🙂

Today I have been missing boat life!  I have been missing the boat community, being with people, being outside and Discovery.  Flat life is so much more isolating, I hardly see anyone, I have no idea what the weather is like outside or temperature and feels like I am just living in a box!

So tomorrow, I am returning to boat life.  I probably will return to the flat on Sunday for more painting, but I am going to sleep on the boat.

Lockdown Restrictions Corner

After providing a handy guide on the different Levels of Protection in Scotland on Day 259, I thought today I would do the same for England.

As you will remember from Day 266, England does not have Levels but Tiers.

You can click on any of these photos below to see them in full size!

Face-Mask Corner (Christmas)

Still not sure what to get someone for Christmas, how about a Christmas face-mask?

As you will know, I have been covering Christmas face-masks over the last few days, from Marks & Spencer’s (Day 268) and Pacemask (Day 269).

Today’s Christmas face-mask is from Etsy and they light up!!

There are loads of different types on Etsy with a range of prices, starting from £3.99.

These ones come in 7 different colours at £22 each.  There is a range of colours and designs and they light up using LED.  They also include a washable mask filter.

Readers Corner

Today just one post from our resident Readers Corner !

Pat posted a Facebook comment on yesterdays blog (Day 269) saying:

“Very True In The Aspect You Mention In Regards Confronting Someone…It’s That Unknown Fear Of How Someone Is Going To React When You Approach The Subject… Remember Take Time To Relax Mate Hopefully Situation Regarding Your Flat Will Get Sorted… Stay Safe and Stay Well Mate…☘️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☘️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿“.

Thanks Pat for your continuous comments in Readers Corner 🙂

Christmas Music Corner

Today Helen has sent something in for Christmas Music Corner.

A virtual choir that she is singing in!  She writes:

“This is the most recent virtual choir performance that I’ve done. I haven’t found my little box in the video, but my name is in the credits 😃“.

So today we have Star Carol by John Rutter, with Helen’s Virtual Choir and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra!

Thanks Helen, with over 1000 people singing I can imagine you can’t see yourself.  Perhaps you need to have a Swedish flag in the background, so you can find your box more easily!!!

As I come to the end of today’s blog, I am feeling super tired, after so much painting.  It’s been great living in a house (well flat) again, but I’ve had enough now.  I am missing being near / on water 🙁

The last few days I have been having memories of Christmas magic gigs I did in 2019 and have realised that I am really missing entertaining people this Christmas with magic.  I love bringing so much joy and excitement to people’s lives being a magician and now am really missing it, December has just not been the same this year!  I have a record of every gig I have ever done, so will have to look up when was the last time I didn’t do magic in December, it must be nearly 10 years!

Let’s hope in December 2021 I will be back entertaining people with my Christmas magic.

Hope you’ve had a Fun Friday.
